Colleen Hoover tells fan favorite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to the “glorious and touching” ( USA TODAY ) #1 New York Times bestseller It Ends with Us . Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date. But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life. Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, author of Perfect Neighbors ) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author). REVIEW

Such an amazing heartwarming story of how love can truly conquer all. Putting your life back together after a breakup is never easy. Especially when a child or children are involved. Overcoming fear is also one of the most difficult things you can do as an adult, and when that fear is because out there hands on you in a negative and abusive way, it’s even harder to live and trust again. But reconnecting with a childhood friend/love who you experienced majorly tragic incidents with has to be the biggest, most rewarding part of this book. That these 2 kids were so traumatized by the events of their lives that they saw a life raft in each other and clung to it with everything they had is remarkable. Maybe their love for each other was only formed because of the lack of a parental one, it was still true and solid. Even though Lily had her mother’s love, her mother herself was being abused and not in a position to act to protect Lily or herself. I think that’s why Lily was so protective of Atlas and threw all her love into him. His homelife situation was probably also the catalyst for his love of her. But with that as the foundation, when they meet up again as adults, they still take their time, getting to know one another again, and fall in love again as adults. The difference being, that when they finally deal with all the craziness going on in their lives, they work together to ensure that they form a united front based on love. Their journey takes a few years, but it’s an amazing process, and I absolutely fell in love with both of these character this book. What a journey! I loved every single second of it, and couldn’t put this down for even a couple minutes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
